About the event
We are excited to be a part of the Mayfield Meadows and Canterbury Trails project!
This project is a community-centered outdoor and neighborhood enhancement initiative led by the Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity in the Mayfield/Canterbury area of Fredericksburg. It is located off a South Street cul-de-sac and Canterbury subdivision.
The project includes construction of a 1,500-foot permeable mulch trail connecting initial Habitat builds to future neighborhood developments; the installation of 10 raised community garden beds AND pollinator-friendly plants that are native to the Central Rappahannock region!
We are starting our involvement this Sunday, August 2nd from 8am-10am where we will be prepping the site for some fall native plantings near the community garden beds. We are laying cardboard, spreading some topsoil and mulch - and then letting things rest until the middle of October.
Please help out for an hour or two - many hands will make this a quick job.…
