Harperella Nodosa Rose

Found by by Allen Belden on June 2002, along Aquia Creek at Quantico Marine Base! According to VA Atlas its habilitar is in “fissures of bedrock outcrop in the channel shelf of Aquia Creek, Stafford Co. The habitat is seasonally inundated and frequently flood-scoured.” It has been federally endangered since 1988! It is considered “imperiled”. To be imperiled means that they are at risk of extinction, USGS states; “…they are animals and plantsthat are in decline and may be in danger of extinction…” This was decided by NatureSevre and has no legal status. The species is also federally endangered as assigned by USFWS which gives it a legal status! A lot of info we know! This means that Harperella Nodosa Rose or Harperella needs our support more than ever!
